The very ancient high cultures did not evolve, they regressed. This is the case with the Egyptians who built smaller and smaller Pyramids over time, the Mayans of Central America, the Sumerians, the Hindu cultures, the ancient Chinese and many others. Progression of civilization only started picking up again in the last few hundred years. These facts contradict the contemporary idea of all civilizations slowly evolving over time. A timeline of human history looks more like a wave of ups and downs than a steady progression upwards. The great buildings, inventions and writings of these cultures were not the product of evolution, they were a legacy. A legacy of what? Of a more advanced pre-flood civilization. The flood wiped out most of what had been built and humankind had to start over again.
One of the many places this becomes evident is in the ancient “Kings Lists” of which three examples are presented here.
Some of them range back hundreds of thousands of years. According to them, the first rulers were the “Gods” themselves, followed by half-gods (“gods” mixed with humans), followed by their offspring human kings who were in charge after the Gods had left – after the flood. It is said that the flood was meant to destroy a civilization that had gone foul due to the intervention of gods and that post-flood society would be rebuilt without their direct intervention.
Historians acknowledge the reality of the kings-lists up to a certain point, but many consider the older ones, where the gods were the kings, “mythological” as in “non factual”.For example the The Sumerian Kings List is divided into “Antediluvian Rulers” of before the flood and then the various descending dynasties after the flood. The Chinese “Emperors List” or the Egyptian “List of Pharaos” have remarkably similar traits. Both go back to an antediluvian period where Gods ruled, then half-gods, then humans. Almost the entire “King List” of Sumeria has been archaeologically researched and proven accurate. So why shouldn’t the first parts on the list, the “antediluvian kings” (the pre-flood gods) be accurate as well? Why cherry-pick what matches modern dogma and ignore what doesn’t?
Historians categorize the Egyptian “List of Pharaos” into three basic periods: The first is the “Legendary Period” when Egypt was ruled by Gods such as Ptah, Ra, Shu, Geb, Osiris, Seth, Horus, Toth, Ma’at and then ruled by half-gods (human-alien-hybrids?). The second is the “Archaic Period” or the “Early Dynastic Period” and then the Dynastic Period, both of which were ruled by human pharaos.
In ancient China there is an Emperors list ranging back more than 750 000 years. These were the first Chinese Emperors:
Neither the old dates nor the more recent ones can be said to be reliable. Various sources contradict each other on them. For example Fu Xi was the husband of Nüwa and therefore her contemporary and probably did not rule as recent as 2852 BC. His story is related to the Great Flood, so one would have to set his reign further back.
Quoting from the Encyclopedia (bolding mine):
in remote antiquity the four poles of the Universe collapsed and the world descended into chaos; the firmament was no longer able to cover everything and the earth was no longer able to support itself; fires burned wild and waters flooded the land; fierce beasts ate common people, and ferocious birds attacked the old and the weak. So Nüwa tempered the five-colored stones to mend the heavens, cut off the feet of the great turtle to support the four poles, killed the black dragon to help the earth, and gathered the ash of reed to stop the flood.
Just like in all other ancient accounts, the ancient rulers of China were involved in creating and stopping a gigantic, world-spanning flood. Another quote that echoes the global narrative:
…it is stated that there were no men when the sky and the earth were separated. Thus Nüwa used yellow clay to make people. But the clay was not strong enough so she put ropes into the clay to make the bodies erect.
The theme of “humans made of clay” can be found in Sumerian and Mayan mythology, in Genesis, in the Quran, in Greek Mythology (Promotheus created a man from clay), in Egyptian Mythology (god Khnum creates humans from clay before placing them into their mothers womb) and among native Americans. This global parallelism should compel scientists to research what the ancients might have meant with “clay” and how it factors into the creation of the human body.
There was a quarrel between two of the more powerful gods, Gong Gong and Zhu Rong and they decided to settle it with fists. When the water god, Gong Gong, saw that he was losing, he smashed his head against Mount Buzhou, a pillar holding up the sky. The pillar collapsed and caused the sky to tilt towards the northwest and the earth to shift to the southeast. This caused great calamities, such as raging fires, vast floods, and the appearance of fierce man-eating beasts. Nüwa cut off the legs of a giant tortoise and used them to supplant the fallen pillar, alleviating the situation and sealing the broken sky using stones of seven different colors, but she was unable to fully correct the tilted sky.
Other versions of the story describe Nüwa going up to heaven and filling the gap with her body (half human half serpent) and thus stopping the flood.
As explained in my book, this could be a hint on how the great flood was caused, namely by tilting the earth.
Quoting from Encyclopedia entries on her husband Fu Xi:
According to legend, the land was swept by a great flood and only Fu Xi and his sister Nüwa survived. They retired to the mythological Kunlun Mountains, where they prayed for a sign from the Emperor of Heaven. The divine being approved their union and the siblings set about procreating the human race. In order to speed up the process, Fu Xi and Nüwa used clay to create human figures, and with the power divine entrusted to them made the clay figures come alive. Fu Xi then came to rule over his descendants…

The serpent-gods Nüwa and Fu-xi
At the very beginning then, “the kingship descended from Heaven” and ruled the Earth until “the flood swept over”. This event also marked the end of the very long life-spans. Apparently long life-spans were associated with the descent of consciousness and having people live shorter lives would apparently improve their situation.
Sumerian History cites “7 ages” which make up about 270 000 years before the Great Flood. After the flood, the offspring of the “gods” ruled as half-gods. And then the human offspring of those half-gods ruled. This is why “the elite” and “royals” originally saw themselves as offspring of “gods” and ruling by “divine right”. It is known that some royals today still try to find evidence of genealogical connection to the very ancient Sumerian and Egyptian kings, but such direct descent is most likely completely lost by now and any such attempts a pointless exercise (unless you believe conspiracy-theories according to which a small number of families who never breed outside of their own have been ruling the world for thousands of years).
If you look closely, you will discover similar “lists of historical rulers” dating back to “mythological times” in every region of the world. Sometimes you have to dig deeper to find them, but they do exist. “Jimmu”, the first Japanese Emperor for example, is said to have “descended from Heaven” in old legends. Prior to the first Emperor, there was the “Age of the Gods“. The “times when the Gods ruled” are also referred to in the oral traditions of Australian Aborigines, the New Zealand Maori and various African tribes. They are known to the ancient Greeks, the ancient Scandinavians and the natives of America as well. In Hinduism, life-spans have gotten shorter and shorter the more “the gods” have descended in consciousness. A near-enlightened being will live Billions of years whereas the more “dense” beings will “only” live a few hundred thousand years, semi-physical beings a few thousand years, physical beings a few hundred years and “modern man” is lucky to live a even a hundred. There have been many stories of people who have lived hundreds or even thousands of years, but I will leave that topic for others to write about. If you think that these time spans are “incredible”: Compared to time units in Hindu cosmology, where the lifetime of a Universe is 311.04 trillion years, all of these events are fairly recent.
